Erika DeSocio - Wouldn't You Like To Know CD. Todd Hobin Biography Todd Hobin been involved in the music business since the early 1960s. Heading the renowned Todd Hobin Band, and touring with national acts such as the Beach Boys, hes gained a vast wealth of knowledge in the music and audio worlds. Putting touring to the side, he opened a recording studio / production company, Aircom Studios later to be known as Todd Hobin Studios and CD Source, in the early 1990s. Hes won numerous Ad Club awards for production of radio and TV spots on all levels- gold, silver and bronze. Todd was involved with the campaign Always Coca-Cola, lending his unique singing voice to the corporate giant. Pappyland, Fort Rickey, Goldbergs Furniture, P&C Foods, Operation Separation (Onondaga County recycling campaign), and the shops at Turning Stone Casino are all satisfied recipients of Hobin Studios excellence in music and audio production. Todd was inducted into the Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMY) Hall of Fame in 1996; An honor given out once a year to those accomplishing major feats in area music. He teaches Audio Engineering at the Los Angeles based Recording Connection and is the Studio Master and Music Director at Full Cast Audio, recently winning a coveted Audie Award for their production of Buddha Boy. Producer, musician, and SAMMY Hall of Fame member Todd Hobin. Since 1962, he has been making waves in the entertainment industry on both the creative and technical sides. It all started in 1974 It stopped in 1994. During this time, this band, The Original Todd Hobin Band, had the pleasure of touring with and opening for, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, Richard Marx, The Allman Brothers, Huey Lewis and the News and too many more to remember them all. They played hundreds of colleges on the East coast from Tampa, Florida to Ann Arbor, Michigan to Bangor, Maine. Back in 2003 Doug Moncrief called Todd Hobin unexpectedly to discuss the possibility of the two of them playing together at a songwriters night in a local pub. The idea of performing songs that they had written together and as solo entities seemed like a good thing to do. The gig was like old times but definitely new times as well. This led to Todd calling Doug to see if hed be interested in doing another songwriters night at a nearby college. This eventually led to subsequent phone calls, Todd to brother Shawn and Doug to Bruce Fowler. A breakfast gathering was arranged and 4 original members of the Todd Hobin Band were asking each other, What do you think? Its been 20 some odd years since these 4 original members of the Todd Hobin Band have performed together. During this time, each of the original 4 explored different paths and directions in music. Not being on the road also allowed these guys to concentrate on more normal things. Like life, raising children, visiting and sharing time with friends and family. All the things that add to a life. And now the paths have re-joined. Its time to share what life has taught. Its time to make music again and bring it all back together. The Original Todd Hobin Band. Also joining this journey, though hes really been on it since birth, is Brett Hobin on bass. He is already an accomplished touring musician and he says hes looking forward to yet another gig with his Dad and Uncle Shawn and his first real stage time with his other two Uncles, Doug and Bruce. Reviews: Todd Hobin Solo Performance at LeMoyne College By Big Mike Fisk, Sunny 104 Radio Station DJ 09/16/2011 Todd Hobin gave a solo performance at LeMoyne College on Wednesday night. It was the gala opening of The Music at LeMoyne Concert Series. I LOVED the show, even dreamt about it that night. I’ve seen Bruce Sprinsteen, Elton John, Billy Joel, Dan Fogelberg and Styx in concert (some of my favorites). I’ve also seen the Stones, the Police, the Who, Dylan (three times), and many more. Todd’s concert was up there as one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. He sounded perfect, in great voice, playing guitar and grand piano. It was a pleasure to be able to listen to Todd sing some wonderful songs. In particular, there was one he wrote about his sister. Todd said he rarely performs it. Apparently, his sister was blind and is only a memory to him now. The tune was stunning … when it was over the entire audience was mesmerized, waiting a few beats to applaud as we felt those beautiful words needed a moment to reflect. There were a few moments like that during the night. It was a moving experience yet a very FUN show … even some of the comments were like Todd doing stand-up. I’ve know Todd for many years. He’s been on my radio show many times, we’ve worked on recording Christmas albums and more, we’ve appeared on the same stage at a number of community events, shared cigars and laughs too many times to remember… But at that LeMoyne show I wasn’t watching a great friend; I was enjoying the creative efforts of a great artist. Yes, a wonderful night and Todd: thank you very much! Heritage Foundation Mark Bialczak, Syracuse Post Standard 05-10-2005 "The Todd Hobin Band fueled the rock scene" says Dave Rezak, music industry professor and curriculum administrator of Syracuse University.
The goals for the Todd Hobin Band these days centers on the
music.
